Now, if you read the title of this post and thought that I started crying because I didn’t like the ring that my boyfriend showed me, you are completely wrong (which is why my boyfriend is now my fiance). Instead, the reason that I started crying is because I thought that the ring he picked out was so perfect for me.

Since I was a little girl, I had always thought that my mother’s engagement ring was incredibly beautiful. I remember that there were times when I was with her that she would take it off and let me wear it. Although she had said many times that I can have it when I got engaged, I never wanted to take it from her because she loved it even more than I did.

So, the reason I got so emotional when I saw my fiance’s ring for me is because he went out and found an antique diamond engagement ring that looked exactly like my mother’s. This antique diamond engagement ring looked so similar to hers that I had to actually ask him if it was the same ring or a different one!
